The Honda Civic 2010 and similar models are equipped with a Maintenance Minder system that monitors engine oil life. When the engine oil life indicator nears 0%, the Maintenance Minder system triggers the dashboard maintenance required light and needs to be reset. This is actually quite simple and can be done in a few steps.

Step-by-Step Instructions

    • Turn the key to the “On” position without starting the engine. The maintenance reminder light will appear.
    • Push and hold the odometer reset button (located at the lower right side of the cluster on the dash).
    • Hold the odometer button until “MAINTENANCE ITEMS” appears in the upper left part of the multi-information display.
    • Press the odometer button again until “OIL LIFE RESET?” appears in the upper left part of the multi-information display.
    • Press and hold the odometer button until the oil life indicator reaches to 100%.
    • Release the odometer button when the oil life reaches 100%.

That’s it! You’ve completed the oil life reset procedure on your Honda Civic 2010. Be sure to check your engine oil regularly in order to ensure the longevity of your engine and keep your car in top running shape!
