Chuuya Nakahara, better known as Chuuya-san, one of the main characters in Bungo Stray Dogs, is a fan-favorite fictional character. However, despite the popularity he garnered in the virtual world, his life in real-life was very unfortunate.
Chuuya was born Otoya Nakahara in May 1878 in the rural district of Fukui Prefecture. After being abandoned by his mother, Chuuya left his home village and moved to Tokyo, where he began to live an itinerant life. To cope with this difficult life, Chuuya resorted to working as an actor, performing in small theaters and silent feature films.
Though he found refuge in his work and found some success, Chuuya felt like his life was meaningless and meaningless. In the summer of 1940, Chuuya took his own life at a remote location in Tokyo. He was 62 years old.
To remember Chuuya, his fans created a memorial shrine near the spot where he died. To this day, people visit the shrine to pay their respects to Chuuya and remember him for being an inspiring character.
